Thank you for visiting the Web Page of the Provincial Grand
Lodge of
Renfrewshire West.
Freemasonry in the Province, which covers the Scottish Local
Authority
area of Inverclyde, has a long and honourable history dating
back to
the year 1728.
It is stimulating to realize that new technology and the World
Wide Web
are now giving us the opportunity to communicate with all
mankind on a
global basis.
As we begin this second millennium, Freemasonry is on the
verge of a
new and exciting era and it is the ardent wish of all
Freemasons in
this Province to make visitors to our Web Page aware of the
benefits
our organization brings to society.
It is often wrongly stated that Freemasonry is a Secret
Society, so I
hope that the very existence of this and similar Masonic Web
Pages will
finally dispel this myth forever.
Freemasonry is an ancient and honourable society. Its
principles are
just steady standards of life and conduct in a changing world.
The
practice by Freemasons of Brotherly Love, Relief and Truth and
the
other principles of the Craft will go a long way to making a
good man
better.
Freemasons are and have been for centuries, an integral and
responsible
part of the community, dedicated to promoting the general
well-being of
ALL law-abiding citizens. We are NOT an organization serving
the self
interests of its members.
It is our endeavour to live in good standing within our
respective
communities, peaceably interacting with friends and neighbours
whilst
our charitable givings and Care Homes facilities are extended
to the
whole community.
