2013 – Civic Reception for Centenary of Lodge Crawfurdsburn Greenock No. 1121

bv img13On the evening of Thursday 10th October, 2013, the brethren of Lodge Crawfurdsburn No 1121 were invited by Provost Robert Moran and the Councillors of Inverclyde to attend a Civic Reception in Greenock Town Hall to mark the occasion of the Lodge Centenary.

He then presented the Bro George Johnstone Carson RWM of Lodge Crawfurdsburn no.1121 with a beautiful crystal vase inscribed “Presented by the Provost and Councillors of Inverclyde to mark the Centenary of Lodge Crawfurdsburn Greenock 1121.”

Bro. George J Carson RWM replied to the Provosts speech, commenting on how the Council and Freemasonry had worked to help the communities in the area over the years. In continuance of this tradition, Bro. Carson then presented Provost Moran with a cheque for £1121 for the Provost’s Fund.

Bro. Alexander Galbraith, Substitute Grand Master, then spoke on behalf of the Grand Lodge of Scotland and thanked Provost Moran and the Inverclyde Council for an excellent evening.Also invited to attend this special occasion for the Lodge and the Province were Bro. Alexander Galbraith, Substitute Grand Master and Bro. James P. Livinstone, Provincial Grand Master of Renfrewshire West.

The brethren assembled for a drinks reception in the Provost’s Room prior to moving through to have an dinner in the Grand Corridor.

After the meal Provost Robert Moran made a fine speech, commenting on the charitable works of the Freemasons of Inverclyde over the centuries.
