Elliot Killens 182x300Brother Samuel Elliot Killens, Past Master of Lodge International No. 1508, member of Lodge Sir Michael No. 989 and Past Senior Provincial Grand Warden.

It was with great sadness that we learned of the passing to the Grand Lodge above of Brother Samuel Elliot Killens, Past Master of Lodge International No. 1508, member of Lodge Sir Michael No. 989 and Past Provincial Grand Senior Warden.

Those longer serving members of the Craft locally will remember Brother Elliot as a larger than life character, always ready to make his opinion known and always ready to make sure that even if you disagreed with him (and he would rarely admit he was wrong), you stayed friends. He was generous to a fault and loved his Lodge and the Craft.

For many years, Elliot was the strength behind Lodge International No. 1508 and when the Lodge was forced into darkness, he transferred his attention to Lodge Sir Michael No. 989. Sadly, Elliot’s health deteriorated quickly and he suffered a long illness before his passing at the beginning of May.

Elliot served his Lodge with great devotion and also served through the ranks of Provincial Grand Lodge to become Senior Provincial Grand Warden.

His funeral on 18th May was well attended by many of his past friends and colleagues from the Province and from the bowling fraternity which was his other great passion in life and our condolences are with his loving wife Christine and the extended members of his family.
